The Crespi lacrosse team helped raise $60,000 for breast cancer research and testing Saturday during its Walk Like a Man walkathon.

The team is nearly halfway to its goal of $140,000. In April, the team will travel to Long Island in New York to play three local teams also participating in the Walk Like a Man challenge. The lacrosse teams plan on running and walking the distance from Los Angeles to Long Island -- 2,750 miles -- as a team to raise money.

Players from the four teams will also walk 6.98 miles from the Brooklyn side of the Brooklyn Bridge to Times Square together in April.

Crespi Coach Jon Oswaks has issued a challenge to every high school from every sport in the nation to rally their teams to help raise money to eliminate cancer. For more information, visit www.crespi.org.
