Boys’ basketball: Sidney to announce college decision

After months of speculation and intrigue, 6-foot-11 center Renardo Sidney of Los Angeles Fairfax is set to announce his college choice on Sunday at a news conference in the Fairfax gym.

Sidney still has to take the SAT next month to gain NCAA eligibility. He has been enjoying a terrific senior season, playing hard and consistently for the Lions, who are seeded No. 2 in the City Section Division I playoffs and begin action Thursday.
