Boys’ basketball: Windward ends Campbell Hall streak

Campbell Hall had won 62 consecutive league games and 60 consecutive home games until Tuesday night, when Los Angeles Windward pulled out a 61-57 overtime victory.

Darius Morris, who scored a game-high 20 points, clinched the victory by making two free throws with 6.9 seconds left. Wesley Saunders had 17 points, Anthony Stover 12 points and Malcolm Washington 10.

Campbell Hall, which overcame a five-point deficit in the final minute of regulation to send the game into overtime, received 15 points from James Johnson, 14 points from Keegan Hornbuckle and 12 points from Austin McBroom.

Windward moved into a first-place tie in the Olympic League, improving to 19-6 and 8-1. Campbell Hall dropped to 17-8 and 8-1.

Campbell Hall’s last league loss came to Brentwood on Feb. 7, 2002.
