Jordan Hamilton, a 6-foot-7 all-star forward from Compton Dominguez, has been denied in his final appeal by CIF Executive Director Marie Ishida, according to Hamilton’s attorney, Sandy Fox, in an e-mail today.

Hamilton was seeking a fifth year of athletic eligibility via a hardship waiver. He has not played this season.

Dominguez Coach Duane Cooper, whose team plays Long Beach Poly tonight in a quarterfinal playoff game, said, ‘We knew it was a longshot, but it is what it is. We have to keep going. I feel sorry for the kid. I think he’s being punished wrongly. I think his parents did the right thing by having him repeat ninth grade because they wanted him to get better grades. I think the CIF kind of missed the whole boat.’
