Football: OL Philipp chooses Oregon State

Offensive lineman Michael Philipp of San Bernardino Arroyo Valley has surprised some people by committing to Oregon State. He was high on the list of UCLA and Stanford, but Rivals.com reported his commitment Monday. He’s 6 feet 3, 320 pounds.

UCLA is a leading candidate to land Long Beach Poly defensive back Stanjarivus McKay, who has said that he’ll make an announcement Thursday on his college choice.
