Football: Bowl crowd was largest in three years

The attendance at Home Depot Center on Dec. 20 for the CIF state Division III, II and open bowl games was 14,122, the largest in the three years the event has been held.
Last year's final drew 12,505 and the inaugural games in 2006 brought out 13,683. When including the 7,581 from the Dec. 19 Division I and small schools final, the two-day total was 21,703.

FYI - ST. PAUL HIGH SCHOOL LOOKING TO HIRE A NEW FOOTBALL COACH.
As of this morning, St. Paul High School is in the market for a head football coach.
Hernandez said a search for a head coach will begin immediately, and the school will be accepting applications from qualified
candidates today through Friday, Jan. 30.
Listed as "desired qualifications" are:
Bachelors Degree.
A committment to Catholic education.
Seven years of high school coaching experience.
Skills to organize and implement a competitive football program.
Talent to inspire achievement and leadership among male student-athletes.
Ability to communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents, staff, faculty, administrators and members of the media.
The commitment to adhere to the regulations, philosophies and educational mission of St. Paul High School, the Mission League, the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) and the Pursuing Victory with Honor Program.
Preferred qualifications are:
Masters Degree.
California Teaching Credential.
Five years of successful high school head coaching experience.
NFHS/CIF or ASEP.CIF certification.

CIF did not honor their passes for the southern section this year.
