Boys' basketball: Dominguez, Etiwanda crash Pangos Dream Classic

January 3, 2009 |  7:33 pm

Two of The Times' top-10 teams are going head to head in the fourth game of Saturday's Pangos Dream Classic at Long Beach City College, and No. 7 Dominguez leads No. 5 Etiwanda, 29-27, at halftime.

Texas-bound senior Jordan Hamilton still hasn't been cleared to play by the CIF, but Keala King has nine points, Darrell Espy has six and Myron Green has five to lead the Dons' attack.

Senior forward Perris Blackwell, who is headed for San Francisco, has six points for defending Baseline League champion Etiwanda, which opened the season 7-1 after going 31-3 last year.

Christian Katuala has eight points and Jordan Finn, a senior guard committed to Air Force, has three points for the Eagles, who opened the second quarter with a 10-0 run to take a 20-18 lead.

The last game of the day will feature No. 1 Mater Dei and Gahr, which should tip off around 8:15 p.m.

Check back shortly for another update.
