Unbeaten Mater Dei suffered a severe blow Thursday when an MRI revealed that 6-foot-8 Stanford-bound Andy Brown tore his ACL against Servite one night earlier. He will undergo surgery and be lost for the rest of the season.

‘He’s a great kid and it’s a dark day for Mater Dei,’ Coach Gary McKnight said.

Mater Dei (21-0) will likely replace him with a group of players depending on the opponent, McKnight said.
