Baseball: Montclair Prep has freshman to watch

Max Fried, a 6-foot-2 pitcher-first baseman expected to start as a freshman at Van Nuys Montclair Prep, has been named to the Maccabiah Games 18-and-under baseball team that will play in Israel in July. He’s the youngest member of the team.

Montclair Prep Coach Rick Weber has been impressed with Fried, who also plays basketball and football for the Mounties.
