Jordan Hamilton, pictured, finished with 29 points and 12 rebounds in the Southern California Regional Division I final, leading Dominguez to an 83-74 victory over Riverside King at the Sports Arena. The Dons are Sacramento-bound, a destination that has been high on Hamilton's list for a long while. They'll play Oakland McClymonds next Saturday night at Arco Arena.
"Something I've waited for since I started high school,'' said Hamilton, who transferred from L.A. Dorsey in the off-season. "I came over here and I made it happen. I had good support from my teammates and a great coach.''
Hamilton had 35 points and 14 rebounds when these teams last met in January, a 68-60 victory by Dominguez at UCLA.

Behind a 29-point effort by Jordan Hamilton, Dominguez advanced to next weekend's Division I state championships with an 83-74 victory over King in the Southern California Regional championships on Saturday night at the Sports Arena.
Dominguez will play Oakland McClymonds for the Division I state title at 8 p.m. on Saturday at Arco Arena in Sacramento.

Long Beach Wilson Coach Jason Kirkwood was just informed by StudentSportsSoccer.com that Wilson is the publication's national girls' soccer champion.
The Bruins (28-1-5) won the inaugural Southern California Regional Division I final by beating Thousand Oaks, 3-0, at Downey High. Sam Baker, Emily Dillon and Samantha Prochnow scored.
The StudentSportsSoccer title may not be the only "mythical" national title Wilson wins this season. The Bruins were ranked No. 2 in the latest NSCAA/adidas national rankings. But the team that was No. 1, Allen of Allen, Texas, lost two weekends ago.

The Dons could be eight minutes away from what's got to be the most sought-after weekend getaway in Sacramento ever recorded in the history of sports.
Thanks to Jordan Hamilton's 22 points and 12 points from Myron Green, Dominguez leads Toreador-slayers King, 60-55, heading into the final frame of this season's Southern California Regional Division I championship at the Sports Arena.
King's Kawhi Leonard and George Fields have looked brilliant, at times, but the Wolves are going to have to find more scoring in the fourth quarter if they're going to pull off upset No. 2 -- that's right, I consider these boys still underdogs despite Thursday's heroics.

Jordan Hamilton had a big second quarter against King in the Southern California Regional Division I final, scoring 11 of his 16 first-half points to help Dominguez to a 39-34 lead at the Sports Arena.
Hamilton scored 15 of his 35 points in the second quarter back in January, when the Dons defeated King, 68-60, at UCLA.
About the only thing he didn't make were his free throws. He's three for seven from the line, but one of his misses actually provided the highlight of the half. Hamilton missed two in a row midway through the second quarter, but grabbed the second as it rolled off the rim and dunked it.
Hamilton later missed the front end of a one and one, but only one Dominguez player went for the rebound and he passed it back to Hamilton, who scored on a short jumper for a 39-33 lead.
Kawhi Leonard and George Fields have 11 points each to lead King and Eric Wise has 10 points and five rebounds.

Narbonne's emotion first bubbled over, then erupted.
Reiko Thomas haltingly blamed herself for the Gaucho's 60-47 overtime loss to Long Beach Poly in Saturday's Southern California Regional Division I final. "I had a couple of mental lapses that gave them the momentum," she said. Once outside the interview room, Thomas fell sobbing into the arms of red-eyed teammate Gabrielle Clark.
But C. Danielle Lenior, who is headed to Washington State, managed to give some perspective on a team that won championships and had them taken away by sanctions.
"I'm proud of everything we've accomplished," Lenoir said. "We won [City] championships, gone to the playoffs every year except for last year ... some of us have been playing together since the ninth grade.
"And now it's over."

Dominguez made six of its first eight shots and jumped to a 13-6 lead on a three-pointer by Jordan Hamilton, but King swingman Kawhi Leonard answered with a three of his own to spark a mild comeback by the Wolves, who trail, 19-15, after the first quarter of the Southern California Regional Division I final at the Sports Arena.
Eric Wise has been very active in the paint for King, totaling six points. George Fields, who went scoreless when these teams met Jan. 20 in a 68-60 victory by the Dons, made a layup in the final minutes to cut the Dons' lead to two points.
Myron Green has eight points to lead Dominguez.

North Hollywood Campbell Hall will be going after its third state Division IV championship in the last four years after defeating Fresno San Joaquin Memorial, 76-45, in the Southern California Regional final at Mater Dei.
Dallas Rutherford scored 23 points and Jrue Holiday had 22 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists for the Vikings (30-5). Campbell Hall opened a 76-39 lead with just over three minutes left when Coach Terry Kelly pulled the starters.

The score belied the struggle. Long Beach Poly pulled out a 60-47 overtime victory over Narbonne in the Southern California Division I Regional final at the Sports Arena.
The Jackrabbits, hoping to win a third consecutive state title, advanced by outscoring Narbonne in the four-minute OT, 16-3, after having not scored more than 15 points in any other eight-minute quarter.
Jasmine Dixon of Poly made it to the end without fouling out, and she played a huge role with her rebounding and scoring. By my count she scored eight in the fourth quarter and five in overtime, giving her 23 points. The Poly statkeeper reports that she had 21 rebounds and four steals. Don't know if that will match up with the official scorer, but Dixon was clearly the key player in the game, and the fact that she missed the last 3:38 of the second quarter because of foul trouble is notable.
She picked up her fourth foul with 5:27 left in the fourth. -- Martin Henderson
Jrue Holiday of Campbell Hall doesn't make dunks with the glitz of DeMar DeRozan and he doesn't try to score points at the pace of Jordan Hamilton, but his steady, unselfish play keeps the Vikings winning.
Holiday made a three-pointer at the end of the third quarter, giving Campbell Hall a 56-34 lead over Fresno San Joaquin Memorial in the Division IV Southern California Regional final at Mater Dei.
Holiday has 18 points and truly looks like an All-American. The Vikings are eight minutes away from a trip to Sacramento.
