Live blog: San Pedro defeats Taft, 27-7

December 5, 2008 |  9:25 pm

* Check out the live blog below for a complete recap of the game.

After watching Taft's D.J. Morgan run circles around San Fernando last week, it's hard to imagine anyone stopping the USC-bound junior running back.

Of course, if there's any team capable of smashing Morgan's sky-high gridiron reputation back into the turf, it's San Pedro. As my colleague Ben Bolch points out, the Pirates' defense has been stingier than Ebenezer Scrooge and they'll be looking to bring Morgan's streak of six games with 100 yards or more to an end.

So, will Morgan demonstrate why he's the most lethal yard muncher in the City Section, or San Pedro's multi-headed monster of a defense led by Robert Franco, Kristopher Bass, Tyler Anthony and Alonzo Lefridge push it into the championship game?

Be sure to join me back here around 6:45 p.m. to see what happens.

We'll also have game updates from Crenshaw-Narbonne, Palmdale-Mira Costa and Saugus-St. Bonaventure on the main blog.
