Live blog: Lancers' gadget play ties Northern Division shootout

November 28, 2008 |  9:09 pm

Thousand Oaks dug deep into its bag of tricks to tie Saugus, 28-28, early in the fourth quarter of tonight's Northern Division quarterfinal game at College of the Canyons.

Lancers quarterback Ian Shultis found wide receiver Curtis Dempster in the end zone on a 40-yard flea-flicker and the extra point tied the game for the fourth time.

Saugus has converted three first downs, the last on a sweep by Ryan Zirbel, and the Centurions have the ball at Thousand Oaks' 42-yard line with under five minutes left.
