Football: Orange Lutheran 14, Notre Dame 14

November 28, 2008 |  8:42 pm

A personal foul penalty against Sherman Oaks Notre Dame gave Orange Lutheran a second chance, and the Lancers made it a costly penalty when Kyle Dravis scored on a nine-yard run with 13 seconds left in the second quarter to tie the game at 14-14.

Moments earlier, Parker Flynn made a 34-yard field goal, but the Lancers decided to wipe it off the scoreboard and take the penalty. On the next play, Dravis raced into the end zone.

Orange Lutheran gets the ball to start the second half, so the advantage has to be with the Lancers because Notre Dame's defense has yet to figure out how to stop the option play. The Knights keep tackling the initial fullback who doesn't have the ball, and it's creating opportunities for long gains for Lutheran. The Lancers have rushed for 212 yards.
