Narbonne has covered the worn middle section of its field with a plastic tarp in anticipation of the rain that has been forecast to reach the Southland later today, Gauchos Coach Manuel Douglas said.

Douglas said the new natural grass surface typically drains well but added that his team would not be dissuaded from throwing the ball even on a wet and muddy field Wednesday when it plays Birmingham in a City Section Championship Division quarterfinal.
