Boys' basketball: Jordan Hamilton ruled ineligible
The Southern Section has denied a hardship waiver to Compton Dominguez basketball standout Jordan Hamilton, ending his high school career unless he wins an appeal to the state CIF.
Hamilton, who has committed to Texas, was seeking a fifth year of athletic eligibility.
"He didn't meet criteria for a hardship," Southern Section commissioner Jim Staunton said.
Hamilton led Dominguez to a Southern Section championship last season. It's another blow for a Dominguez program that is without its coach, Russell Otis, who is on administrative leave.
