Live blog: Moorpark at No. 24 Thousand Oaks

October 24, 2008 |  9:38 am

Thousand Oaks may have cracked The Times' Top 25, but I think Moorpark is going to assert itself tonight as the team to beat in the Marmonte League this season.

The Musketeers' gutsy performance against a very good Notre Dame squad last month proved they're one of the best teams in the Northern Division thanks to a hard-nosed defense that has surrendered an average of 30 yards rushing a game -- that's bad news for John Lister-reliant TO. And even though a lot has changed since last year, I'm sure Moorpark will keep him under control like they did in 2007 (Lister was held to 31 yards).

Check out what the Ventura County Star had to say about the game pretty much everyone outside of Westlake Village believes will determine the Marmonte League champion. And click back around 6:45 p.m. for my live blog.
