Football: What was Friday night's biggest 'upset'

October 25, 2008 |  9:46 am

I realize a lot of folks wouldn't consider all the following results "upsets" depending on which side of the fence they're sitting on, but I figured these were at least some of Friday's best games.

Steve,

You're right -- Roosevelt's victory over Jordan is a definite upset. Sorry I didn't include it on the poll question.

Geez, Austin,

Even us folks at Garfield see the Riders' upset of the "Other" Bulldogs as a really big upset. Considering all the hype the has been surrounding them in their recent improvement, for Roosevelt to come in and knock them off is big. Maybe now the Times will start paying attention to the "Pure Football" the City Section plays.

Is it that big of an upset? Roosevelt was 6-1 going into this game and they were still considered the underdog. I think that maybe RHS should start getting some respect, even more now that they defeated a 4A Playoff contender. Also, why hasn't Jesse Diaz being mentioned as a top QB in the city? He's had some great games and I hear some schools have been keeping an eye on him. Any thoughts on Roosevelt's chances at an Invitational Title or Diaz's abilities?
