Junior quarterback Brody Rohach connected on a 19-yard pass to James Dearborn for the game-winning touchdown late in the fourth quarter as visiting Moorpark (6-1, 3-0) defeated Marmonte League rival Thousand Oaks (6-1, 3-1), ranked No. 24 by The Times, 20-17, on Friday night.

Rohach, who usually splits time at quarterback with injured Brian Blechen, completed 20 of 41 passes for 178 yards and two touchdowns. Early in the second half, he threw seven consecutive incomplete passes, but hit his stride on the Musketeers’ penultimate possession, connecting on passes of 13 and 15 yards to push Moorpark into the red zone.

100_4010 “He showed a lot of poise under pressure,” Moorpark Coach Tim Lins said. “He came through when he needed to.”

Moorpark’s Tyler Peterson spearheaded the Musketeers’ ground assault, rushing for 88 yards in 27 carries.

Thousand Oaks running back John Lister, pictured left, finished with 83 yards in 16 carries. His 43-yard touchdown run in the second quarter gave him a team-record 340 career points.

Quarterback Ian Shultis completed nine of 15 passes for 190 yards and a touchdown. He was picked off by Moorpark’s Tim Vizzi on the Lancers’ final possession.
