Football: Hart defeats Canyon, 29-27

October 24, 2008 | 10:00 pm

The stop Hart's Jake Stephens made on Geffen Camp during the fourth quarter of Friday night's game against Canyon might not end up in the boxscore, but that doesn't necessarily mean the sequence wasn't one of the most important of the game.

Camp was attempting to pick up a first down on fourth and one from the Cowboys own 29-yard line when Stephens met him head on and denied Canyon what would have been a key first down.

Hart took over the ball, and made the Cowboys pay.

Spenser Souza scored on a 1-yard run three plays later to give the Indians a 29-20 lead with 6:56 remaining in the game. There's 2:03 left in the fourth quarter at this point, Hart is up 29-27, and the final seconds are ticking off the clock. The Indians win.
