It’s been a while since I’ve had the opportunity to catch Keegan Hornbuckle in action. Come to think of it, the last time I saw him uniform for Campbell Hall was back in mid-June. And from what I rememer, the 6-foot-6 senior was rapidly improving, perhaps more so than any other kid from out there in the Valley.

Interestingly enough, I’m not the only one who thinks he’s ahead of the curve when it comes to the developmental process. Several Division I programs have jumped on the bandwagon recently, and now, all of a sudden, scouts consider Hornbuckle one of the most sought-after recruits on the West Coast.

‘Things have been crazy around here lately. Coaches from all over the country have been in contact with me about Keegan,’’ Campbell Hall Coach Terry Kelly said. ‘There’s a term in basketball called blowing up and he’s done just that over the past couple of months. He’s going to make an impact at the next level.’’

Arizona State, Oregon State and Michigan are among the numerous schools that have offered him a scholarship. Arizona is another major player and plans are in the works for an official visit to Tucson this weekend. Based on those facts, it appears the sky is the limit for Hornbuckle, who has emerged as a legitimate prospect.
