There are plenty of interesting games Friday night, perhaps the most entertaining of which is Inglewood against host Narbonne. The showdown features one of the Southland’s top receivers in the Sentinels’ Shaquelle Evans lining up across from the Gauchos’ Byron Moore, considered among the best safeties around.

Several high-profile Division I programs are interested in Evans. In fact, 13 schools have offered scholarships to the 6-foot-1, 200-plus-pound senior, most notably Louisiana State, Oklahoma and USC. And plans are in the works for an official visit to Notre Dame toward the end of the month. But first things first, and that’s a one-on-one matchup with Moore.

“I’ve seen Shaq at different summer camps and things, and we‘re cool, we‘re friends. But once we put the pads on, things are going to be different,’’ said Moore, who committed to USC back in late June. “To be the best, you have to go up against the best. This is an opportunity for me to prove myself, prove what I can do.’’

“We want to shut Inglewood down and I want to shut Shaq down. That means no catches, zero catches. He probably thinks he has game. And he does have game. But he better remember who is back there in the secondary waiting for the big hit. There could be trouble waiting for him. We’re hyped up for this game.’’
