Football: St. John Bosco could add Fletcher next month

September 24, 2008 | 12:48 pm

St. John Bosco, which already features one of the most dynamic passing attacks in Southern California with quarterback Keith Price, could add star running back Alex Fletcher by the end of next month if the Lakewood transfer meets academic eligibility requirements.

Fletcher was a first-team All-Moore League selection last season for Lakewood.

"He's as good as any football player we have," St. John Bosco Coach Kiki Mendoza said. "He's a good kid, and he's very coachable."

The Braves also soon hope to get back guard Matt Hastert, who sat out last week's 64-6 victory over Long Beach Cabrillo after turning an ankle. Hastert is questionable for Friday's home game against Loyola.
