Basketball: Campbell Hall's Hornbuckle commits to Colorado

September 23, 2008 |  9:27 pm

Knew it would be a matter of time before Keegan Hornbuckle made his college choice, but I didn't except him to make a decision about the future this soon. But alas, the senior from Campbell Hall has, orally committing to Colorado on Tuesday.

The last time a blog about him surfaced around these parts, Arizona, Arizona St., Oregon St. and Michigan had scholarship offers on the table for the 6-foot-6 wing. But apparently, there was something about Boulder that piqued Hornbuckle's interest.

"Keegan is a smart kid. He definitely did his homework before he committed to Colorado,'' Campbell Hall Coach Terry Kelly said. "In reality, the system is perfect for him. He had plenty of options but I think he made the right choice. We're happy for him.'

"We are talking about a kid who will have the opportunity to play right away, in a very tough conference, no less. He's not going to shy away from competition at the next level. He can step in and make an impact, there's no question about it.''
