Well, that didn’t take long. Less than a week ago, this blog hit the Internet and indicated that Demetrius Walker of San Juan Capistrano JSerra was interested in spending his college years at USC. And it appears he’s made the all-important decision about his future.

The 6-foot-4 senior orally committed to the Trojans despite having offers from some of the nation’s premier programs such as Memphis and Tennessee. Other schools hoping to woo Walker were Arizona and Indiana. Click here for some quotes on the decision-making process.

The pledge was USC’s first for the 2009 recruiting class, and a huge one at that. Walker is regarded by most Division I scouts as one of the top shooting guards in the nation, so Tim Floyd & Co. deserve kudos for landing him.
