Basketball: Wheeler transfers from Beverly Hills to Leuzinger

July 13, 2008 |  5:30 pm

You know when you recognize someone, but you just can't seem to remember from where? Well, that happened to me on Sunday at the Fullcourt Press All-West Camp when I saw Julian Wheeler running the show from his point-guard position at The Hangar in Hawthorne.

Then it donned on me, this Julian Wheeler was the same Julian Wheeler that played for Beverly Hills the last three years. However, there will be no fourth season with the Normans for Wheeler because the 6-foot-1 senior has apparently transferred to Leuzinger.

The move makes sense, I suppose. We are, after all, talking about the same Julian Wheeler who drew his share of attention a season ago after serving a four-game suspension for violating team rules. It will be interesting to see how he does this time around.

Julian is one the strongest two gaurds in the city, who has linked up with one of the best HS coaches in the city, watch out.
