Football: Montana sighting in Newbury Park

July 1, 2008 |  8:07 am

Nicholas Montana, a 6-foot-2 junior quarterback who is the son of Hall of Famer Joe Montana, picked up enrollment papers Monday for Newbury Park High, but a final decision has not been made on whether he will transfer from Concord De La Salle.

The family was looking for a house in Ventura County on Monday but also could end up staying in Northern California or enrolling Nicholas in a private school.

Newbury Park, which has not settled on a starting quarterback, is known for passing the ball.

Montana frequently comes to Los Angeles because he trains under private quarterback Coach Steve Clarkson.
