With four tournaments going on in Las Vegas, it’s the perfect time to start a trivia game: Name That Coach.

With so many college basketball coaches in town, just drop by a gym and try to identify a head coach you’ve seen on TV.

I’m at Foothill High in Henderson, headquarters for the Reebok Summer Championships, and Mark Gottfried, the coach at Alabama and a former UCLA assistant, has dropped by. ‘This is summer basketball at its best,’ he said.

No one will have any trouble figuring out what college coaches are watching because they’ve all come dressed in shirts with huge logos identifying their schools.

I see coaches from Indiana, Kansas State, Oklahoma State and Kansas just by turning my head.

Kansas assistant Joe Dooley, armed with his GPS device, said he’ll be moving around, scouting not only players for next season but young players too.

‘There’s enough kids here to keep us busy,’ he said.

Foothill is the site of a 3 p.m. clash between 6-foot-10 Renardo Sidney of Los Angeles Fairfax and 6-foot-10 John Henson of Round Rock (Texas), a North Carolina commit. The gym should be packed.
