Boys’ basketball: Honeycutt gets UCLA offer

On Tuesday, Sylmar 6-foot-8 forward Tyler Honeycutt celebrated his 18th birthday by receiving a scholarship offer from UCLA Coach Ben Howland.
Sylmar Coach Bort Escoto said the Bruins, USC and Arizona State rank as the top candidates to land Honeycutt, who has been the talk of spring and summer competitions. Honeycutt will receive lots of scrutiny next week when he heads to Las Vegas for a tournament.
