Basketball: Plot in this Story revolves around former Artesia product

June 9, 2008 |  2:32 pm

Not quite sure why there hasn't been more of a buzz surrounding Malik Story's recent decision not to honor his commitment to USC. We're talking about a kid who was one of the most sought-after prospects in the nation back when he was a junior at Artesia, before his short-lived transfer to Mouth of Wilson (Va.) Oak Hill Academy ended for undisclosed reasons.

There must be more to the Story. No pun intended -- well, maybe a little.

Unfortunately, my efforts to reach him over the past couple of days came up short. Would have loved to hear what he had to say. I did, however, run across a report on the Internet that indicated Story planned to visit Georgetown on Friday. Several other programs are interested, including Indiana and Oregon, which most likely means the Trojans' loss is going to end up as someone else's gain.
