One of the many kids who caught my attention earlier this month during the Pangos All-American camp at USC’s Galen Center was Tony Freeland, whom I considered at the time to be a bit of an undervalued West Coast recruit. He’s done plenty to shed the image since.

The senior from Fremont has received interest from Kansas State and Oklahoma. It should also be mentioned that DePaul, Loyola Marymount and Marquette have been in contact with him over the last three weeks, and each could be on the verge of offering a scholarship.

At 6-foot-6 and 200-plus pounds, Freeland possesses the size most colleges desire in a player on the wing, and it will be interesting to see who jumps on the bandwagon next, and when -- perhaps the Pac-10 Conference schools will come calling. We’ll find out soon enough.
