Softball: OC stars beat IE, have more games scheduled

June 3, 2008 |  4:44 pm

Twin sisters Jamie and Elia Reid of La Palma Kennedy helped Orange County beat Riverside County in an all-star softball game for the first time.

OC scored an 8-3 victory over the IE at Mt. San Antonio College on Monday. The OC perspective is here, in the Register, and here is a Riverside Press-Enterprise account of the game. Batting 1-2 in the order, both scored twice. Jamia had two hits, and Elia had two stolen bases.

Starting pitcher Kylie Wagner of El Modena also had a big game, and Meredith Hackett of Corona Santiago broke up the shutout with a home run in the eighth inning.

Orange County all-star games continue Tuesday and Wednesday. The North-South game sponsored by the Brea Soroptimist is Tuesday, 6:30 p.m. at Cal State Fullerton.

The Coaches' All-Star game is Wednesday, 6:45 p.m., at Barber Park in Irvine.
