It's Friday Night Football in June
Until now, about the only cure for the Friday Night Light blues has been to watch "Friday Night Lights" on DVD (the TV show, not the movie).
Good thing the 29th annual Hall of Fame game is coming up. The classic affair between East SGV vs. West SGV (with some kids from the Claremont and Bell Gardens area included) is providing the Friday Night fix you need on June 27 at 7 p.m. at Basset High.
Some of the players expected to take part are Oregon State-bound defensive back Kevan Walker of Arcadia, Northern Colorado-bound quarterback Matt Baca of Ayala, Utah State-bound running back Chris Harris of Duarte, defensive back/running back Kanaan Snowden of Charter Oak and running back Willie Youngblood of Muir.
Ray Hernandez of La Puente is the coach for the East, and Erick Escamilla of South El Monte is the coach for the West.
