Football: Mater Dei wins Dana Hills passing tournament

So much for all that talk about Mater Dei lacking receivers as targets for All-American quarterback Matt Barkley.

They were good enough Saturday to help the Monarchs defeat Los Alamitos, 28-26, in the championship game of the seven-on-seven Dana Hills passing tournament.

Derek Campbell, Andrew Roth and Sean Sierra were among the new receivers making contributions. Los Alamitos defeated Mater Dei, 27-26, earlier in the day.
