Boys’ volleyball: Stars are out for Division II semifinal

There’s no shortage of talent here at Wednesday’s Southern Section-Toyota Division II semifinal match between Corona del Mar and host Santa Barbara. Both programs feature several players moving on to play college volleyball, so it’s reasonable to expect to see some stellar play.

Stanford-bound Gus Ellis leads the way for the Sea Kings and has a full complement of players around him, including Jeff Carlson (USC), Dillon Flinn (Cal) and junior Dylan Davis, one of the most sought-after prospects among the Class of 2009.

Santa Barbara counters with Will Montgomery (UC Irvine) and it will be interesting to see if he can carry the load for the Dons. We’re just minutes away from getting things started, so stay tuned for updates throughout the evening.
