Softball: La Serna's semifinals heroes agree to interview

May 27, 2008 | 11:51 pm

Experience was the key factor in La Serna's 3-2 win over top-seeded and previously unbeaten Crescenta Valley on Tuesday. La Serna had experience, Crescenta Valley needed it.

La Serna, which was playing in its third consecutive Southern Section-Toyota Division III semifinal, advances to the championship game for the first time since winning it all in 2001. The Lancers (26-4) will play Paloma Valley (23-8), which beat Cajon, 7-1, earlier in the day, either Friday or Saturday at Barber Park in Irvine.

Here's a quick interview with seniors Holly Consterdine, the starting pitcher who led the way with 11 strikeouts, and Brandi Rummel, the third baseman who hit a two-run home run that tied the score at 2-all in the fourth inning.
