Experience was the key factor in La Serna’s 3-2 win over top-seeded and previously unbeaten Crescenta Valley on Tuesday. La Serna had experience, Crescenta Valley needed it.

La Serna, which was playing in its third consecutive Southern Section-Toyota Division III semifinal, advances to the championship game for the first time since winning it all in 2001. The Lancers (26-4) will play Paloma Valley (23-8), which beat Cajon, 7-1, earlier in the day, either Friday or Saturday at Barber Park in Irvine.
