The North Division boys' lacrosse playoffs are down to the final four, after Loyola and Chaminade posted quarterfinal victories Saturday. Loyola defeated Beverly Hills, 11-2, and Chaminade edged Downey, 9-7.

A semifinal doubleheader is on tap for Monday at Beverly Hills, with Chaminade taking on second-seeded Oak Park at 5 p.m., followed by Loyola against top-seeded Palos Verdes at 7 p.m.

The division's championship game will be 7 p.m. Wednesday at Mira Costa. The winner will face Foothill for the "unofficial" Southern Section championship at 7 p.m. Friday at Trabuco Hills. Foothill defeated Palos Verdes, 11-10, in last year’s title tilt.

On the girls' side, semifinal action is on tap for Monday in both Orange County and the South Bay.
In Orange County, things went according to form as the top four seeded teams won quarterfinal games Friday. Top-seeded Beckman shut out Aliso Niguel, 13-0; second-seeded Foothill beat Mission Viejo, 19-12; No. 3 Los Alamitos hammered Trabuco Hills, 20-4; and No. 4 St. Margaret’s nosed out Tesoro, 11-9.

Semifinal games are scheduled for Monday, with Beckman playing host to St. Margaret’s at 4 p.m. at Hicks Canyon Elementary School in Irvine; and Los Alamitos at Foothill at 5:30 p.m. The winners will face off Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Trabuco Hills.

North Division girls' action got underway Saturday, with Peninsula defeating Culver City, 14-3, and Redondo knocking off Beverly Hills, 11-1, in Bay League playoff games. Monday’s semifinals will see Redondo playing at top-seeded Palos Verdes and Peninsula at Mira Costa, both at 5 p.m. The Bay League/North Division championship game will be Wednesday at 5 p.m. at Mira Costa.

The "unofficial" Southern Section title game is slated for 5 p.m. Friday at at Trabuco Hills.
