At the halfway point of the Southern Section-Toyota Division III boys’ tennis final, top-seeded Brentwood holds a slim 5-4 lead over second-seeded Beverly Hills at The Claremont Club. The match was tied 3-3 after one rotation.

In a battle of No. 1 players, Brentwood’s Walker Kehrer beat Daniel Ho, 6-1. Kehrer then beat the Normans’ No. 2 player Gary Parizher by the same score to give the Eagles their fifth point. Brentwood’s No. 1 doubles team of Jackson Isaacs and Danny Sharon also won its first two sets.

Nine sets down, nine to go and the title is still their for either team to grab. The Normans lost 10-8 to Brentwood prior to the playoffs and today’s match appears headed for the same score unless Beverly Hills can win at least five sets to level the match, at which point total games would be counted to determine a winner.
