Football: Chadwick QB Magee commits to Arizona State

April 19, 2008 |  6:37 pm

SunYou guys like to keep track of this stuff -- commitments and signings. So here's a good one...

Chadwick quarterback Andy Magee has committed to play at Arizona State.

Magee, who considered UCLA and USC, threw for 3,668 yards and 50 TDs on 251 of 387 passing this season for Chadwick and had 6,503 yards and 72 TDs over the past two years.

And guess who Magee will be eventually competing with? Englewood (Colo.) quarterback Jack Elway -- yep, the son of NFL legend John Elway.

We expect Magee to redshirt this season as QB Rudy Carpenter returns for the Sun Devils, but then he and Elway should compete for the starting job the following year.
