Citing a conflict with a work schedule that didn't allow him to make the same commitment to the basketball team he oversaw, Matt Roberts has resigned after nine seasons -- four as head coach -- at Esperanza.

He replaced long-time coach Marc Hill, and in four seasons guided the Aztecs to two league titles and an 81-34 record.

For more about his decision, read the story by Carlos Arias.

Hey Martin Aztec fans are celebrating. Spinazze was our best player all year long but Matt always favored Burns, he even blackballed Samuelson the leagues leading scorer by far for MVP of the league, to get Burns according to our assistant. Our assistant did a lot of the work at Esperanza and Matt shot him down so he would not get the job
