Eagle Rock names new football coach, but can he win over players?
After weeks of turmoil following the dismissal of former coach Jerry Chou, Eagle Rock has named Johnny Lopez as his replacement, Principal Salvador Velasco said Monday.
Lopez was an assistant coach last season at East Los Angeles College and previously coached at Pasadena Marshall, according to Velasco.
Eagle Rock players have been protesting Chou's firing, and it remains to be seen if Lopez can gain the support of his players and the program's boosters.

Coach Lopez was fired mid way thru the season at Pasadena MArshall, his players went into the principles office and refused to play another game under him. He has no idea about football and I wish Eagle Rock A LOT of luck! WHY would Eagle Rock hire him? He has no idea how to run a practice nor coach a game.......

Yeah? Lopez told us that he left Marshall. We asked him if he was fired and said no. So off the bat, he lied to us.

Victor: P-r-i-n-c-i-p-a-l is the correct spelling.
Unknown: Believe everything you hear and you won't have a mind of your own.
It is such a pity that people can point the finger so quickly at the drop of a hat.
