For the past two weeks, I’ve been leaving messages on Buena AD Tina Wright’s phone hoping to get an update from her about the football coaching search. And the one day I didn’t call her, a new coach was named.

Of course, Cliff Farrar isn’t just any new coach. The grizzled coaching veteran who led Nordhoff to four divisional title appearances and nine league championships over the last 21 years is the guy the Buena faithful are hoping will steer the Bulldogs back toward greatness.

He helped make co-Tri-Valley League champions Nordhoff a team to be respected and I have a feeling the 59-year-old is going make things a little brighter in Bulldog country.

Check out what Farrar told the Ventura County Star about his move away from the mountains and into the tough Channel League.

I wish the best of luck to Farrar in his new position. He’s a great guy and he’s always friendly to the media.
