Loyola Cubs can clinch Mission League crown tonight

February 6, 2008 |  9:20 am

Wildlife_image04The greatest gurus have the simplest insights.

Jamal Adams, coach of Loyola boys' basketball, has a simple one: "If they just believe in themselves, the ball will find the right man with the right shot at the right time."

The Cubs must be believing. They sit atop the Mission League with a one-game lead over both Crespi and Harvard-Westlake with one game remaning. "It was pretty euphoric to get to the top of the league," Adams said.

Tonight/Wednesday there may be even more euphoria as Loyola (18-7, 11-2) tries to clinch the league title at Chaminade (13-13, 7-6) at 7 p.m.
