Life in the slow lane at Washington High

February 8, 2008 |  5:34 pm

Patriots "We got too caught up in running up-and-down the court with them," said Washington Coach Andy Davis, when asked what he remembered about his team's loss to Gardena on Jan. 23. "That's not our game."

So tonight/Friday, with a share of the Marine League title on the line, Davis said the Generals (21-4, 9-2) will slow it down against the visiting Panthers (19-6, 10-1).

If Gardena plays man-to-man defense, Washington will spread floor. If the Panthers go to a zone defense, the Generals will milk the clock.

"We have to win because I think that's the only way we'll get a [first-round playoff] home game," Davis said.
