What’s one of the big reasons behind Quartz Hill‘s success?

Well, the high-scoring trio of Eric Wageman, Logan McDaniel and Facundo Gomez definitely comes to mind. These guys have been the driving force for the Rebels, who captured the Golden League title on Monday with a predictable victory over Antelope Valley.

Wageman, a junior, has 21 goals and 45 points, McDaniel has tallied 12 goals and 41 points and Gomez has ruffled the twine with 17 goals and 36 points. I understand the Golden League has its stragglers, but these numbers are still pretty impressive.

Still, can we consider Quartz Hill a favorite for the Division I title even with its three-barreled shotgun? It’s a little difficult to say because the Rebels haven’t played any top-of-the-line opponents other than perhaps West Torrance (and maybe San Fernando).

I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what happens -- unless someone out there in the blogosphere knows something I don’t. Don’t be shy, post your thoughts!
