They handed out pink bracelets Saturday night before the Inland Division semifinal between Corona Centennial and visiting Chaparral. They were in honor of Donna Logan, the wife of Centennial Coach Matt Logan, who died of breast cancer in July at the age of 41.

I figured many folks outside the Norco/Corona area aren’t familiair with Donna’s story, and what she and the Logan family endured for four years. This web site pretty much describes it all, from medical journals to family photos.

Probably very few knew that Logan has taken on a second role this fall. That being the glue that continues to hold his family together. I asked him before his game Saturday night if he scouted the other Inland Division semifinal the night before, and he said no, he stayed home and watched the Pac-5 semifinal between Orange Lutheran and Long Beach Poly.

With three daughters ranging in age from 10 to 16, he knew where he was needed most. At home with his children, even if it meant he’d miss the chance to watch his next opponent in person.

‘I’m so proud of him,’ said Logan’s father, as the Huskies wrapped up their 68-14 victory over Chaparral.

I think everybody should be.
