The streak is over and so are the dreams. Palmdale (12-2) won a dozen consecutive games, having not lost since Sept. 7, and won its sixth straight Golden League title. Yet, it all crashed to a sudden stop Friday night with a 42-14 loss to St. Paul in the Western Division championship game.
Afterward, Palmdale Coach Jeff Williams gathered his bedraggled players. "You are a bunch of great guys," he told them. "You have nothing to be ashamed of, nothing to hang your heads."
And the coach is right. Absolutely.
