I don’t see any igloos around here

Is it just me, or does every other high school in the Inland Empire use the Huskies as a mascot?

I watched the Corona Centennial Huskies in Week 0 and Week 2, and the Riverside North Huskies in Week 1. Thursday night, it’s the Chino Hills Huskies I’ll be evaluating when they travel to Santa Margarita Tesoro.

I don’t know much about these Huskies. I see they chewed up and spit out San Gorgonio, 35-13, on Friday night. A week earlier, they were ranked No. 1 in the area by the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin, then they went out and made that reporter feel like his head was in the clouds by losing to No. 8 Diamond Ranch, 42-28.

Tesoro is coming off a 35-0 embarrassment to defending Division II state champion Orange Lutheran, so the Titans probably needed some motivational exercises during the week.

Speaking of motivation, why don’t the IE schools name themselves after a dog more indigenous to the area?

Pit Bulls anyone?
