VW car art in Whittier pays homage to 'Octomom'
Next time you are driving the streets of the greater Whittier area, you may actual see nearby La Habra resident and 'Octomom,' Nadya Suleman out and about. However, if you don't, the Gold Mine VW Auto Parts building along Pickering Avenue in Whittier will give you the next best thing.
Owners, Ralph and Diva Chase have mounted this 1969 Volkswagen Beetle on the wall outside their building. Inside, a black-haired mannequin -- respectfully named Teri, not Nadya -- is sitting with her legs crossed and is surrounded by babies. A box of diapers sits on the Bug’s roof.
Another case of creative marketing in a tough economy.
