New Chevrolet Camaro SS in the picture

autos cars Los Angeles Times 2010 Chevrolet Chevy Camaro SS V8 engine Transformers Revenge of the Fallen sequel summer blockbuster This is the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS coupe, the one with a V-8 under its hood. And these are two of the first official pictures from GM. The V-6 Camaro has already been seen in the first "Transformers" movie. Considering the sequel ("Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen") is being made right now, what are the odds on the SS making an appearance in next summer’s blockbuster?

The Camaro SS is due in showrooms next year (the V-6 model is slated for March), and it will come with two drivetrain options. Those with a six-speed automatic transmission will run a 400 horsepower/395 pound-feet version of the 6.2-liter engine driving the rear wheels, while those with the six-speed manual transmission get the same power plant, but it will produce 422 hp and 408 lb-ft.

Latcamaross2 The SS is further differentiated from its V-6 sibling by the addition of 20-inch wheels. It’s too soon for GM to talk about money, but somewhere around $35,000 could be an educated guess.
