Second French bulldog found at home of dog-theft suspect is returned to owner

Frenchbulldogpuppy

The second French bulldog puppy recovered from the Duarte home of a man arrested on suspicion of dog theft last week has been reunited with its owner, a Chino resident, The Times' local news blog, L.A. Now, reported.

Both French bulldogs were reported stolen under similar circumstances over the last few months: A man who claimed to be interested in purchasing a puppy instead snatched one from its breeder and ran.

Darryl Jerome Cole, 20, was arrested after sheriff's deputies searched his residence and found the two dogs there. Cole, who was on probation for a prior conviction involving dog theft, allegedly told police that he planned to breed the two and sell their offspring.

Police are reportedly investigating the possibility that Cole may be involved in other incidents of dog theft in Southern California last year.

How were you able to get the police involved? I went to our local police about my missing French, they said they cannot do anything. I can't even claim the dog because apparently there is no certain identification or serial number with a dog!! Any advise is appreciated! Thank you!
